Neurodevelopmental disorders are neurologically based disorders that may affect the acquisition, retention or application of specific skills or sets of information. They consist of disturbances in attention, memory, perception, language, problem solving or social interaction.
According to the DSM-V, the main neurodevelopmental disorders are:
– ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
– Intellectual disability, different levels of severity
– Communication disorders
– ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
– Specific learning disorders
– Motor disorders
– Tic disorders
– Other neurodevelopmental disorders
The training area of Fundaneed presents this workshop where the possible warning signs to be taken into account at an early age for a possible diagnosis, in the school and family environment, emphasising the fact that the diagnosis and detection in girls is later.
This activity is led by the professionals Elvira González (speech therapist), Sandra Domínguez (social worker) and Sara Cotano (therapeutic pedagogue), who are part of the interdisciplinary team of Fundaneed.
