Throughout history, people with characteristics that are out of the ordinary are treated by society based on their “differences”, they are filled with connotations that segregate them as “not normal” or “poor” and they are generally excludes them from various activities in multiple sectors.
It is true that the culture of “acceptance and coexistence”, so to speak, has evolved; we have gone from total exclusion to integration where we seek to change some issues in the environment to make it easier for people with different living conditions to “access ».
However, it is not enough to adapt the facilities, we must promote real inclusion by transforming the way in which disability and neurodiversity conditions are socially conceived and beginning to see that we are all different and unique. We all deserve the same opportunities and respect for our rights.
Inclusion is an action that seeks to guarantee that all people and their families have the same opportunities for access and participation in the areas of health, education, culture, work, etc. Inclusion means making all people, regardless of their differences, “part of.”
The best way to promote the comprehensive inclusion of people with autism is to make the condition visible and raise awareness in society about the importance of promoting acceptance and respect for the differences between human beings, but how to achieve it? Raising awareness with this pioneering exhibition carried out by a woman with ASD.
As a finishing touch to the day, we will enjoy a brief piano recital by a young Salamancan harpsichordist and fortepianist with international promise, Rodrigo Belio.
